The Taglocity Tagger is a control used for assigning and removing tags ( categories All Taglocity tags are mapped to Outlook categories, and saved on items as Outlook categories. You can even use the Outlook categories feature to assign and remove tags.) to and from Outlook items:

In Outlook 2010, click the Taglocity ribbon, then click Taglocity Tagger in the Layout group
Note When you turn the Tagger off, it is accessed when needed via the Tagger button the on the Taglocity toolbar or ribbon tab. The Tagger button opens the Taglocity Tagger with Suggestions dialog box which includes the Tagger and suggested tags (Suggested Tags is a Professional Edition feature). Enter Tags by Typing Type the tags into the Tagger separated by commas, or start typing a tag and then select it from the auto-complete list with the arrow keys, then press Tab to accept it. If you have created bundles, then the auto complete will list matching bundles (parent and child tags). If you select a line item in the auto-complete list with multiple tags separated by a slash, then all the tags are entered into the Tagger. Note You can have spaces in tag names. The only characters that are not allowed in tag names are the slash / and comma. The slash is used to separate parent and child tags in bundling, and the comma separates tags. Enter Tags with the Tag Tree Click the drop-down arrow in the Tagger to open the tag tree. Click the checkboxes next to the tags you want to assign. Press Enter or click the close button on the bottom left of the list to close the drop-down list. |
Taglocity lists matching tag names as you type. If the tag is a parent tag, the all its child tags will be listed with the parent tag. Also, matching tags will be listed with their parent tags if they have any. |
If you type a tag into the Tagger that's not setup yet, then Taglocity will prompt you for confirmation to add a new tag to your collection. If you answer Yes, then the Tag Properties dialog box will open for you to change default settings if you like. If you answer No, then Taglocity will assign it to the selected items as an Outlook category. Jump to Add Tags for further information about creating tags. |
When you enter one or more tags with a Tag Action, the Tag Actions button in the Tagger appears. Hover your mouse over it to see the list of actions that will run when you press Enter or click out of the Tagger: To cancel the pending actions, or run them immediately, click the Tag Actions button to open the Tag Actions popup window, then click Run Now or Cancel Actions |
When you have an email selected in Outlook, the Tag Conversation in Reader button opens the Conversation Reader to show the email in context with other emails in the conversation, and provides conversation tagging options. The Tagger in the Conversation Reader hosts the Tag Conversation button which replaces existing tags on all messages in a conversation with the current tags in the Tagger:

The Tagger uses different font formats to convey different meanings in a similar way to how Outlook underlines recognized email addresses. Underlined tags are recognized by Taglocity as tags in one of your collections. Tags that are not underlined in the Tagger are not in your collection which means they exist on Outlook items as categories Remember that Taglocity tags are mapped to Outlook categories and saved on items as Outlook categories. In fact, you can assign and remove tags with the Outlook categories interface. Italicized tags in the Tagger are tags created by other users (i.e. tags that traveled with their email and were imported by Taglocity and saved in the Other People's Tags collection). |
Tip In the Professional Edition, private tags are shown in blue text in the Tagger as a visual differentiator from public tags.
