When you first install Taglocity, there are two tag collections: Personal and Other People's Tags (see Note below). When other Taglocity users send you email with public tags (a.k.a. traveling tags), your Taglocity will check to see if the incoming tags exist in one of your tag collections. If not, then Taglocity will place these new 'unrecognized' tags in the Other People's Tags collection, and show them in the Tagger as underlined and italicized, You can override this default behavior and tell Taglocity to ignore other people's tags via the Ignore Other People's Tags setting in Taglocity Configuration.
Tags in the Other People's Tags collection do not appear in the auto-complete list when typing in the Tagger. They also do not appear in Suggested Tags. For this reason, you may want to put some of your own tags into this collection.
To move tags into the Other People's Tags collection
1. | Click the Taglocity toolbar button or ribbon tab, then choose Configuration |
2. | In the left pane, click Tags |
3. | In the Tags list, find an existing tag that you want to move to the Other People's Tags collection (Tip Click the top node of the tree and start typing the tag's name to quickly locate it) |
4. | Click on the tag and hold the mouse button down |
5. | Drag the tag to the Other People's Tag collection and release the mouse button (drag and drop). (Tip If the Other People's Tags node is off the screen, drag the tag to the bottom of the list and the list will scroll up) |
6. | Click OK to save changes (this closes the Taglocity Configuration form) |
To accept Other People's Tags
Tags in the Tagger that are underlined and italicized are tags in the Other People's Tags collection. To accept them into your own personal collection:
1. | Right click the underlined and italicized tag in the Tagger |
2. | Select Accept Other Person's Tag in the context menu |
or
1. | Drag and drop them from the Other People's Tags collection into your personal collection (see above for drag and drop instructions) |
Note If you use TeamFeed, then there will a tag collection for each group you belong to. Any changes you make in group collections are synchronized to all group members when they sign in.
Tip TeamFeed allows you to share tags with colleagues.
