Remove Tags

Removing a tag removes it from Outlook items. It does not delete the tag from your collections (tag lists).

To remove a tag from an item
1.Select or open the Outlook item containing the tag you would like to remove
2.If the Tagger is not open  either above or below the email list, or on the Taglocity Toolbar, or at the bottom of the item edit window , click the Tagger button on the Taglocity toolbar or ribbon tab
3.In the Tagger, right click on the tag you wish to remove from the email, and select Remove This Tag

Tip Double-clicking on any tag in the Tagger will also remove it from the currently selected Outlook item(s).

Note You can also remove  a tag from an entire conversation. Select one of the emails in the conversation, and then right click on the tag that you want to remove, then choose Remove Tag from Conversation. See Tag Email Conversations for more information.

To remove tags from multiple items

When you select up to 50 items in Outlook, Taglocity puts all the tags from all the selected items into the Tagger. Tags that are on all of the items are black; tags that are on only some items are gray. When you select more than 50 items in Outlook, Taglocity will not show the tags in the selection due to performance reasons. Instead, you will see this message: The selection is too large to show tags. Tags can be assigned or removed.

Remove tags from less than 50 items

1.Select up to 50 items To select individual items, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking items in Outlook. To select a range, click on an item in the Outlook list view, hold down the Shift key, then click another item. in Outlook
2.If the Tagger is not open  either above or below the email list, or on the Taglocity Toolbar, or at the bottom of the item edit window , click the Tagger button on the Taglocity toolbar or ribbon tab
3.In the Tagger, right click on the tag you wish to remove from the email, and select Remove This Tag

Tip Double-clicking on any tag in the Tagger will also remove it from the currently selected Outlook items.

Remove tags from more than 50 items

1.Select more than 50 items  To select individual items, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking items in Outlook. To select a range, click on an item in the Outlook list view, hold down the Shift key, then click another item.  in Outlook (in any Outlook view or in Taglocity Search)
2.If the Tagger is not open  either above or below the email list, or on the Taglocity Toolbar, or at the bottom of the item edit window , click the Tagger button on the Taglocity toolbar or ribbon tab
3.Because more than 50 items are selected, you will not see the tags in the Tagger
4.Click the drop-down arrow in the Tagger to open the tag tree
5.Taglocity fetches all tags from the selection and puts a check in the checkbox of all the tags it finds (depending on the size of the selection, this may take a while to complete)
6.Clear the checkboxes next to the tags you want removed from the selection
7.Press Enter or click the close button on the bottom left of the list to close the tag tree
8.Taglocity shows a progress dialog while processing the removal of tags from the selection

Tip  The Bulk Tagging feature also allows you to remove tags from multiple items.

To delete a tag and remove it from all items
1.Select or open the Outlook item containing the tag you would like to delete
2.In the Tagger, right click on the tag you wish to remove from the email, and select Delete This Tag
3.Choose Yes when asked if you want to remove the tag from all Outlook items

or

1.Click the Taglocity button on the Taglocity toolbar or ribbon tab, then choose Configuration...
2.In the tag tree, find the tag you want to delete (Tip click the top node of the list and start typing the tag's name to quickly locate it)
3.Press the Delete key or click the Delete button
4.Choose Yes when asked if you want to remove the tag from all Outlook items
