Preview

Check the Preview checkbox to preview the first few lines of text contained in each of the items in the search results.

Reading Pane

Click the Reading Pane drop-down button to open or close the Reading Pane. When it is open, simply click on a search result, or scroll the search results with the up and down keyboard keys to see a full rendering of the selected item. Click the item in the Reading Pane to open it in Outlook.

Click on a column header to have the search results sorted by that field (i.e. To, From, Location, Subject, Tags, etc.). Results will be listed alphabetically (or chronologically in the case of date fields) by the clicked column with the direction indicated by small arrow . Click the column header a second time to reverse the sorting order.

Right click in a column header and select Sort Ascending or Sort Descending.

Tip  You can revert to the original sort order by right clicking in a sorted column header and selecting Clear Sorting.

You can quickly filter the results in the search results list based on the value of any cell:

Tip  If you want to temporarily disregard the filter, clear the checkbox in front of it. If you want to clear the filter, click the X in front of it; or right click in the column header and select Clear Filter.

Tip  The drop-down arrow at the end of the filter shows the most recently used filters. Selecting one replaces the current filter.

Group by Column

Drag a column header and drop it on the Drag a column header here to group by that column panel to have the results grouped by that column. To undo it, simply drag the header back to it's original spot, or right click in the group panel and select Clear Grouping.

Group by Conversation

Check the Group by Conversation checkbox to have search results grouped into conversations.

Column headers can be sized by dragging their edges. They can be relocated to other positions in the grid by dragging and dropping their headers.
