By default, all searches in Taglocity include email attachments. For example, if a keyword is found in an attachment rather than the email's message body, then a link to the actual attachment as well as the email containing the attachment is included in search results.
There may be occasions when you know what you're looking for is in an attachment, not an email. In cases like this, it helps to exclude everything that is not an actual attachment in order to reduce clutter and make the results more relevant.
Or conversely, you know what you're looking for is in an email that has one or more attachment but you only want links to the emails in search results. You can even tell Taglocity to show both (i.e. only links to actual attachments and emails that have one or more attachments), and exclude anything else that may satisfy your other filters like keywords, From/To/CC names, and date ranges.
To see only actual attachments (not the items containing the attachment)
| 1. | Click the Search button on the Taglocity toolbar or ribbon tab to open the Taglocity Search window |

Click on the Taglocity Search folder in the Outlook Navigation Pane (if you haven't deleted that folder)
| 2. | Optional: Conduct a search based on keywords or tags or date etc. (Tip) Type a keyword or keywords in the 'Type your search keywords here' box. Press Enter on the keyboard, or click Go Find. |
| 3. | Click the Attachments button on the Prune Results panel |
Tip The Taglocity Contact Bar can also be used to locate emails with attachments for a particular contact or sender.
To see only items containing attachments (not the attachments)
| 1. | Click the Search button on the Taglocity toolbar or ribbon tab to open the Taglocity Search window |
or
Click on the Taglocity Search folder in the Outlook Navigation Pane (if you haven't deleted that folder)

| 4. | Check the Must have Attachment checkbox |
| 5. | Click the Go Find button or press Enter to initiate the search |
To see only actual attachments plus items that have attachments
Do both of the above.
