Enhance the Outlook Reading Pane

Show/Hide Hidden Text

If you don't want to use the Taglocity Conversation Reader in place of the Outlook Reading Pane, and you don't have enough screen space to keep both open, you may want to consider using the Taglocity Conversation Reader in compact mode. In compact mode you will see only preview summary bubbles of all messages in the same conversation as the currently selected email in Outlook (the one showing in the Reading Pane). This means the conversation reader can be useful in a very narrow or shallow space. Clicking on any of the summary bubbles opens the underlying message in Outlook for you to see more and take action on it (i.e. reply, forward, view attachments, etc.).

To use the Conversation Reader together with the Outlook Reading Pane

1.On the Outlook View menu or tab, click Reading Pane and choose Right or Bottom
2.In Outlook 2003 and 2007, click the Taglocity button on the Taglocity toolbar, click Conversation Reader, then click View

In Outlook 2010, click the Taglocity ribbon, then click Conversation Reader in the Layout group

3.Click any location to embed the Conversation Reader (Tip Try either 'Left of Reading Pane' or 'Bottom of To-Do Bar' first)

Note  If you embed the Conversation Reader to one of the Outlook Reading Pane locations, then the Outlook Reading Pane must be on  On the Outlook View menu, click Reading Pane, then select either Right or Bottom  or the Conversation Reader will not be visible either.

Tip  If you are using the Conversation Reader embedded in Outlook in a small space, you can hide the controls panel on the bottom of the Conversation Reader window by clicking the Hide button in the bottom panel. Click the Show button on the top panel to show it again.

Note  Just like the Outlook Reading Pane, the Conversation Reader is turned on or off per folder. This means you can choose to have the Outlook Reading Pane on for some folders and the Taglocity Conversation Reader on for others.

Tip  Jump to Setup Your Workspace for location ideas.
