The Send then Delete Professional Edition feature allows to you keep your Sent Items folder a little less cluttered because, by default, Outlook automatically keeps a copy of everything you send. This feature is useful for automatically deleting those one-off emails that have no archival value.
The Send then Delete piggybacks the Tag Reminder feature which pops up when you send email that has no tags assigned. The idea is that if you bothered to tag email, then you probably want to keep the email so there's no point in offering the Send then Delete option.
Note This feature permanently deletes the email after sending, meaning it does not simply put it in the Deleted Items folder. It has the same effect as if you unchecked the Outlook option Save copies of messages in Sent Items folder.
