Create a user forum to share best practices and problems
I am an active participant in many User Forums for my most important software. It lets me ask questions and glean best practices without having to go through the vendor. It expands the conversation and creates more customer loyalty
35 votesYes, I agree and a User Forum is planned and something we want to get up and running as soon as possible.
Just as some background to this, as explaination as to why we haven’t just thrown up a quick phpBB2 traditional forum, is that we did run a Taglocity Group called ‘Beta Forum’ during our beta program, and it had over 500 users. What we found is that the Taglocity group worked pretty well but was unsuited for a really large public community, i.e. as a public forum - the group concept seemed to work best as a private discussion medium.
So what we are doing now is working on new Taglocity Group features to make a better public forum (let people be anonymous, easier posting, moderation, better tagging etc) and will use that as a way for the community to share ideas/best practices.
So a great suggestion and…

autoremoval of tags after action
I use tags for actions, such as my tag "tasks" for setting up an appointment in my calendar - which nicely attaches the email i ve received to the calendar entry.
However once the action - in this case setting up the appointment - is completed I would like the "tasks" tag ot auto delete.
I think this is similar ot the "active" tag in V3 - but as far as I can see, I can't do this for any of my own tags
4 votesIt does make sense to sync tags on tasks and appointment created by tag actions to match the originating item. This way, any tag actions that assign or remove tags from the original item, will also be applied to the newly created task or appointment.

Add "Apply Auto-Assign-Tag Rule to All Items in Inbox"
Similar to Outlook Rules, which allows you to apply a newly created rule to existing messages. Frequently I only discover the need for an "Auto Assign Tag" rule AFTER I see the message. I would like the create the Auto-Tag Rule, then "Apply" it to all mail.
16 votesWe have thought about this too so thanks for suggesting it….makes the decision easier when people take the time to suggest it. We will move this up the list.
In the meantime, you can accomplish a similar objective with the new tagging in search feature. Simply build a search based on the same criteria you use for the Auto Assign Tag, press Ctrl + A to select all results, then enter your tag(s) in the ‘Type here to tag’ box and press Enter.

Blackberry
I manage a lot of email in my blackberry. It would be great if there was some taglocity functionality available on the BB. Wouldn't have to be all of it but the ability to assign tags would be great.
Can I do it manually by just adding Tags: to bottom of email I send?
9 votesYes, you can manually add a tagline (i.e. Tags: tag1, tag2) to bottom of your email and Taglocity will parse it and assign the tags when email with the tagline arrives in any of your ‘monitored’ folders. The Inbox is the only ‘monitored’ folder by default but you can add more, such as your Sent Items to the ‘monitored’ list via Configuration/Settings.
We do plan to build a BB app but can’t say when it will be delivered.

Complex auto-assign tag rules
Similar to the way you define an Outlook rule, I'd like to be able to have more complexity for the way I assign a tag.
For instance, I'd like to be able to have a condition that checks the "to", "from", "cc" and "subject" fields for a keyword and then assigns the tag, instead of having to create 4 different rules to assign the same tag.

Group Auto Assign Tag
To make tagging consistent across my company, I would like to have a feature where Auto Assign Tags are based on Group Rules, that I can publish to all members of the group.
This way I can make sure all emails are properly and consistently tagged.3 votesThis is a logical extension of the Auto Assign Tag feature and is on our roadmap for a future release. Thanks for putting the suggestion here.

xobni like
Hi !
I love the following feature :
When you open an email, the taglocity panel displays all the conversation and the attachement related to this contact.
It is quite similar to Xobni. Even better I would say because it is simpler and less crowded than Xobni.Yet, you should take it one step further :
- display the same information when you select a contact from the "outlook contact pane".
Or, like in Xobni, when you search a contact with taglocity, offer the possibility to display those informations.Maybe it is possible, but I did not find it. I…
1 voteThanks for the suggestion…we’ll look into implementing it for the next release.

to allow changing tags of a msg from within search results
I use some tags as @wait and @nextaction to get a list in the search results of messages which require some action, of wait for a respons.
When the action is done, or an answer received, I have to open the message to delete the tag. So it would be easier to change or remove tags for messages from within the search results window.3 votes -
have the cancel button stop creation of new tags.
When typing tags in, I generally type the first few letters then press enter, and allow the auto-complete to fill in the tag. However, if I hit an extra letter (e.g. Appp instead of App for appointment), the result is the creation of a new tag, even if I press cancel. It would be a lot more logical if "cancel" resulted in no tag being created, and instead going back to the tag text entry field to edit.
2 votesJust to check, do you use the Setting to confirm new tags? Under Config / Settings / Notifications you can have these two set:
- Ask if I want to create a new tag
- Show tag property editor for new tagDo these settings help, or have I misunderstood?
Thanks for the feedback.
