Add Feature Request Option to link to here

Point users to this site from inside Taglocity. (I didn't know it existed!)

    Status: under review

Fair point - we'll make something more obvious in the app.

Tidy up the preview text in the search results.

The preview text of emails in the search results is a bit of a mess. It would be good to tidy them up or even better show the first paragraph whilst removing the "Dear ABC" from the preview.

Agreed, will do for the next release. Thanks for speaking up!

    Followup TagAction

One of the TagActions that might be useful is to mark the email for followup in Outlook. This is more than just tag it with a "Followup" tag -- this is use the Outlook followup menus so that it shows up as flagged in various windows in Outlook.

We will look into this...thanks for the suggestion!

Allow only a single instance of the taglocity config window

The Taglocity config window allows multiple instances, doesn't appear in the task bar, and often ends up at the back of my desktop, so when I'm editing tags I occasionally end up with a few instances of the window open, sometimes with different tag changes in each.

These changes get applied t... More

have the cancel button stop creation of new tags.

When typing tags in, I generally type the first few letters then press enter, and allow the auto-complete to fill in the tag. However, if I hit an extra letter (e.g. Appp instead of App for appointment), the result is the creation of a new tag, even if I press cancel. It would be a lot more log... More

Just to check, do you use the Setting to confirm new tags? Under Config / Settings / Notifications you can have these two set:

    - Ask if I want to create a new tag
    - Show tag property editor for new tag

Do these settings help, or have I misunderstood?

    Thanks for the feedback.

show sender's Presence Status in Conversation Reader

Outlook has an option to show the email sender's presence status in the Reader pane. Please either honor the Outlook option in the conversation reader or add a similar capability to the Taglocity configuration.

Is this an extended feature in Outlook? If so, what is the underlying technology used? I'd like to learn more about this.

Allow more advanced filtering from the outlook filter pane

From a new user who may not understand everything yet (so please correct me if I'm being dumb)... I would really like to see the filter pane improved to include:

    1) Operations other than "AND": Presently the filter pane only allows "AND" type tag serches. I could really use... More

Thanks good feedback Richard. Currently we don't offer those extra option on the Filter area, although that was mainly to conserve screen space. We'll revisit that decision.

In the interim you can 'hack' the filter yourself, although it's not ideal. In Outlook you can use the 'View / Current View / Customize Current View...' option. From there you can edit the 'Filter' portion to enter your own query, e.g. "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office#Keywords" != 'Support' would select all message with a NOT on the support tag.

As for the search folders on the non-default store, that's an Outlook restriction, but we are investigation ways around this.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Let the Tag Filter work on messages in a PST file

I've never actually seen the Tag Filter work, but I only tag email messages, and all the messages I tag are moved to a folder in a PST (as a result of the tagging). When I go to that folder and try to use the Tag Filter, nothing happens to the list of messages. In all honesty, I don't know why my... More

Would love to get more specifics on what you think we could do. Don't want to breech their copyrights or EULA so we haven't tried it yet. Please email us with your ideas to info at taglocity dot com.

Create a user forum to share best practices and problems

I am an active participant in many User Forums for my most important software. It lets me ask questions and glean best practices without having to go through the vendor. It expands the conversation and creates more customer loyalty

    Status: planned

Yes, I agree and a User Forum is planned and something we want to get up and running as soon as possible.

Just as some background to this, as explaination as to why we haven't just thrown up a quick phpBB2 traditional forum, is that we did run a Taglocity Group called 'Beta Forum' during our beta program, and it had over 500 users. What we found is that the Taglocity group worked pretty well but was unsuited for a really large public community, i.e. as a public forum - the group concept seemed to work best as a private discussion medium.

So what we are doing now is working on new Taglocity Group features to make a better public forum (let people be anonymous, easier posting, moderation, better tagging etc) and will use that as a way for the community to share ideas/best practices.

So a great suggestion and we do agree - Apologies for the wait, and we're pretty keen to roll out the new features soon too.

Change the tag input item on emails to not shrink

When an email is not wide enough, the tag input box shrinks but the "Publish To" box does not. I think this is backwards - tags should stay wide while "publish to" shrinks since we use tags much more often. Also, a narrow choice list is muich easier to use than a narrow text e... More

    Group Auto Assign Tag

To make tagging consistent across my company, I would like to have a feature where Auto Assign Tags are based on Group Rules, that I can publish to all members of the group.
This way I can make sure all emails are properly and consistently tagged.

    Status: planned

This is a logical extension of the Auto Assign Tag feature and is on our roadmap for a future release. Thanks for putting the suggestion here.

remember email address and related contact

Usually Taglocity is not able to find the correct contact to an email in the Taglocity pane.
It is possible to select the correct contact in the drop down list, but it seems, that this relation is not being saved.
When the email is re-selected the link to the correct address is lost again.

Auto-assign tags if word in subject matches existing tag.

Title pretty much sums it; it would be nice if you could have an option to have a tag auto-assign if the text of an email subject matched a tag already in the user database.

Add tag group or parent tag options when creating new tag

Typing a new tag into the tag bar gives you the option to save it as a new one, and the extra tag options (like colour and tag actions) is good, useful perhaps once in every 10 new tags.

What I would be useful EVERY time though would be the option to select where to put the tag. I have two grou... More

    Hi !

I love the following feature :
When you open an email, the taglocity panel displays all the conversation and the attachement related to this contact.

Allow setting colors with right-click flyout from filter!

Heck, anywhere the blooming tags are enumerated.

Here's the philosophical point: When I CREATE a tag, I want to specify it's color because that's the moment I see that the color is bogus.

Yet when I type a new tag's name, the pop-up properties don't show an opportunity for assigning color? ... More

Displaying contact's avatar (Taglocity Pane, near 'Add to contact' link) image isn't always properly aligned. Sometimes it is centered over the text.

    Blackberry

I manage a lot of email in my blackberry. It would be great if there was some taglocity functionality available on the BB. Wouldn't have to be all of it but the ability to assign tags would be great.

Can I do it manually by just adding Tags: to bottom of email I send?

    Status: planned

Yes, you can manually add a tagline (i.e. Tags: tag1, tag2) to bottom of your email and Taglocity will parse it and assign the tags when email with the tagline arrives in any of your 'monitored' folders. The Inbox is the only 'monitored' folder by default but you can add more, such as your Sent Items to the 'monitored' list via Configuration/Settings.

We do plan to build a BB app but can't say when it will be delivered.

Most recently used tags on a tagbar

Instead of fixed buttons on a tagbar, how about having 10 most recently used tag combinations there?
Typically email conversations tend to "cluster" and I find using same combinations like "customer, acme, bad debt" over and over throughout a day. Next day, different story.
