Tagging Outgoing Messages
I do not understand how to tag outgoing messages. The Tagolocity toolbar on the compose window only has a limited number of tags to choose from. I can not create a new tag and am unable to select from the full tag list. Am I missing something or is this an intentional limitation. If intentional, why?
Hi Paul,
There are a few ways to tag outgoing messages, other than the small number on the toolbar, and it depends on how you set up your Taglocity tools windows. (1) If you tick 'Dock in New/Editor Outlook window?' in the Config / Tools Preferences tab then you can have either a QuickTag or TagCloud tool appear 'docked' inside the current editing message window. If you tag from here then the tags will go with the message. See here for the help on this window: http://www.taglocity.com/help/ConfigTab5.htm. (2) If you prefer to use the 'floating' TagCloud or QuickTag windows then you can tag the outgoing message by just selecting the tool after selecting your edited email message. Here's an example: - Press 'New' to create a new email. - Back in the main Outlook window press the 'QuickTag' button and bring up the floating tool (assuming it's not already on). - Type some text into your new email window. - Select the 'QuickTag' window and tag the email, just like you would in the main Outlook window. - Select click back into the email and hit 'Send'. It's worth pointing out here that the 'Tagline' button needs to be 'On' and the tags are not to be set to 'Private' for them to be able to 'travel out'. See here for more info: http://www.taglocity.com/help/How_TravellingTags_Work.htm I personally like to use the 'QuickTag' docked into the New/Editor window, as it takes the least space and allows me to rapidly tag on the way out. Perhaps this configuration should be the new default for Taglocity? I left it off to 'keep out the way' incase people didn't work like me... PS I've assumed Outlook 2003 here, in Taglocity beta 3 for Outlook 2007 you get Ribbon UI support for bringing up either tools docked as you like... |
