Autotag still only applies 1 tag?

Hi David.

Just reading through the online help and saw that there was a limitation in 1.0 where Autotag will only apply 1 tag. Is this still the case? If yes, is there an ETA to change this?

Thanks
David

Yes, the intention is to evolve this, although we're probably beta something in this area first, as there are lots of options to go with.

The existing algorithm and default classifier is a 'learning/refuting chain of words' thing, and tends to be best at a 'first past the post' decision. When I've tried to use it to mark many tags at once then the accuracy quickly drops off as it 'diverges' scores. If you fish out the text file 'classify.out' then you can see the full scores yourself, and often one 'bucket of statistics' (what we call an AutoTag) is the clear winner.

So what we are looking at is adding a few 'layers' of classifiers in a pipleine, that you can imagine a few tags being set but not by this single algorithm (if that makes sense).

Of course, the best way to get good tags on things that come in is to tag them on the way out (or get others to use Taglocity too :-). The best form of 'AI' is to take about away the 'A'.
