Migrating the location..?

I am not sure what is going on here. I uninstalled Beta 1 for OL2007. I then installed Beta 2. I ran OL2007 and a dialog came up saying:

Taglocity Information
Migrating the location of the Taglocity Data Files. It is a one off operation. Please wait.

This has been running for quite some time now. I am not sure what to do as it should not be migrating anything. The OK button is grayed out and the Cancel button does not seem to do anything.

What's up?

OK. It closed when I closed Outlook. I think this should be made clear (i.e. that it will close with Outlook). I was looking for it to comnplete and close while I was running Outlook. It did not show up as a process or program in Task Manager. I could not close it while I was in Outlook.

I would suggest the following:
Make clear that it will close when Outlook is closed.
Do not provide an OK or Cancel button in the dialog box if they are useless.

Either that or do not show a box at all.

Hi John,

The migration was trying to move any data files left in the old location of 'program files/...' as Vista prohibits that now.

Even though you uninstall, the routine does leave the config behind - this was mainly done for updates where people by default want to keep their settings.

A couple of things could have gone wrong and I'll try to recreate it here. If you had a number of AutoTags then the amount of data to move may have been large and taken some time, although by the sounds of it, it got 'stuck'.

I'll update the migration dialog to close and log an error, rather than stay open - which seems to be the case here.
