We proudly use a Taglocity 2.0 group for our new forum!

Taglocity 2.0 is currently in private beta. We have created a Taglocity group called 'Taglocity Beta' for our beta user community to use in lieu of a traditional forum.

Members of the Taglocity Beta group can post questions and comments just like a traditional forum. This is done by simply emailing the group's email address. Members can also reply to other people's posts just like you'd reply to a regular email.

All members share a common tag collection for this group and are encouraged to tag their group emails with tags like Ideas, Issue, Tips, FAQ, etc. This makes searching and browsing more convenient.

Members can access the Taglocity Beta group via Taglocity 2.0 for Outlook or via any Internet browser to search or browse postings.

Subscriptions

Unlike traditional forums and mailing lists, members can subscribe to be notified when new content arrives based on their own criteria. Notifications can be delivered by RSS feeds or email forwarding.

For example, members may want to be notified only when something arrives with the Tip tag on it. Or maybe a broader query like anything tagged with Tip OR Ideas OR Knowledge Transfer. Members define search criteria as simple or complex as they like and then turn them into subscriptions.

Of course, members can also choose to be forwarded everything like a traditional mailing list.

In order to minimize disruptions, members can create digests which queues up notifications to send them in packages at user-defined intervals.

Taglocity Groups
are better than
forums!

Here's how it works:

Once you've created a Taglocity account and installed Taglocity 2.0 for Outlook, email Taglocity Member Services and we will be happy to invite you.

After you accept the invitation, you will also be able to publish emails to the group simply by emailing the group's email address (or by ticking the Publish To checkbox for the group on outgoing email).

You will also see the group's tag collection next to your personal collection in Taglocity 2.0 for Outlook. This helps the community be somewhat consistent with tagging but you can use any tags you like.

Any tags you add to the group's collection will be automatically distributed to all members.

You can use Taglocity's integrated search tool to search the group's content. Taglocity Search also allows you to create subscriptions to be notified when content matching your search criteria arrives.

Naturally you can Sign In here and access all of the Taglocity groups you belong to with any Internet browser like IE or Firefox.

Privacy

You must explicitly email groups or use the built in 'Publish To' control to post email to groups. Taglocity does not automatically send any email or other information to any groups without a purposeful action on your part.

Note that if you 'Reply All' to a message that includes a group's email address, then the message will get published to that group and all members will be able to access it.
