Question: Should tag names be Case Sensitive?

At the moment tagnames are not shown as duplicates if they don't match exact case. This was actually unintentional, and we filed it as a bug.

For the next Beta update (just a couple of days away btw) the plan is to restrict this.

Is this ok, as in does anyone have any strong opinion on why a tagname could be case sensitive?

Just to be clear, at the moment you can have two tags:

(1) Tag1
(2) tag1

While next week you won't be able to.

Is the AI case sensitive? I'm still training, but I was surprised that it did not autotag 'Xyz123' when the 'xyz123' was in the subject line.

I don't believe the tag names should be case sensitive.

I would advocate strongly not to be case sensitive- I have had too many experiences where we created a lot of user confusion by being case sensitive.

It is particularly a problem for categorizing and 'coding' of something, especially when referring to real-world things. eg: The colour 'Red' should equal 'red': just because it was used at the beginning of sentence is irrelevant.

(One particularly hard lesson was when we were using a 4 character code to ID a real-world location, such as P2 = Parking Level 2, etc.  the original design was case-sensitive "to increase the options", but all it did was confuse everybody).
